Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Follow and maintain COR policy and procedure.
  • Help provide and maintain a safe therapeutic community for patients.
  • Maintain training requirements as defined by Cornerstone Policy, the Joint Commission and TN State Licensure.
  • Facilitates or co-facilitates presentation groups or other therapy groups as scheduled and qualified.
  • Communicates with referral sources and external customers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicates effectively with internal customers and all COR departments for coordinated efforts and efficiency.
  • Actively participates in and co-facilitates treatment teams and staff meetings.
  • Actively participates in treatment planning and reviews plans for assigned
  • program patients.
  • To be assume director responsibilities when director is absent.
  • To assist the director in staff supervision, training, hiring, disciplinary and termination of staff.
  • Monitor to ensure quality of discharge planning process to include: completion of continuous care forms, aftercare appointment and referrals, online resources and post treatment check in calls.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams and departments to coordinate and insure successful admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Conducts 1:1’s as needed with patients and staff.
  • Monitor and direct the clinical evaluation of all patients including suicide risk assessment.
  • Direct and supervise a comprehensive clinical understanding of the
  • following treatment modalities: twelve step, disease concept, schema therapy, spirituality, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and the stages of change.
  • Supervises schedule of groups, including lecture/discussion groups, therapy groups, presentation groups, etc. and ensures adequate staffing to meet patient needs.
  • Aids in On Call after hours to provide consultation and support staff as needed.
  • Ensures that program services are provided within budgetary guidelines
  • Assume administrative duties such as payroll and ordering supplies as assigned and needed.
  • Responsible for all duties and responsibilities detailed in the Assistant Director, Counselor and Program Coordinator job descriptions.
  • Lead concern staffing and patient interventions while demonstrating the ability to de-escalate crisis situations with calm demeanor and candor.
  • Participate in program development, seeking input from Cornerstone leadership team.
  • Provide internal and external intervention services as needed and qualified.
  • Demonstrate and role model inter-departmental communication, collaboration, and cooperation to support the mission and vision of Cornerstone.
  • Participate in approved outreach activities that further Cornerstone’s mission and vision.
  • All other duties as assigned where permitted by experience, training, working conditions, and physical demands.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal skills
  • The ability to work effectively with others from various backgrounds
  • Comprehensive understanding of the 12 steps of recovery and the ability to implement it into the treatment process of our patients
  • Comprehensive understanding of Schema Therapy and the ability to implement it into the treatment of our patients
  • Provide 1 on 1 with patient population as defined by the treatment plan
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with an F endorsement

Education and Experience: *

  • High School or GED required
  • Current LADAC II Certification, Master’s Degree Preferred
  • 3 years’ experience supervising staff and working in an Alcohol and Drug Treatment Program
  • Minimum of 2 years as a counselor
  • Management experience preferred
